Cybertots

The first Cybertots nursery opened in Acton in 1999. Since than, it has grown into a very successful childcare centre and leader in innovative childcare. In January 2004 we opened our second nursery in West Ealing and in April 2006, we opened our third Internet nursery in Northolt.

What are our aims

We are aware that the welfare and development of each child is paramount. We treat and respect children as individuals whose needs should be catered for and we also recognise and accommodate the individual needs of parents.

We admit all children regardless of their religion, culture, gender and physical ability and believe that all values from different backgrounds should be recognised and respected.

We provide the right level of support and encouragement to help develop their confidence and social skills.

It is our aim that during the time your child is at our nursery, they will learn and grow creatively, emotionally, physically and socially to their fullest potential.

We believe that children’s learning and development will be best supported by a program that ensures each child:

  • feels safe and secure
  • has opportunities to actively explore their environment, practice new skills, reason, and problem solve
  • Is able to make choices in their environment which affect them
  • Has opportunities to handle and experiment with equipment and materials
  • Develops a sense of enjoyment , fun, curiosity and interest in the world
  • Has opportunities to be creative and imaginative
  • Has high self esteem and confidence
  • Becomes an independent, self motivated and complete individual
  • Is co – operative, caring and honest
  • Is free from stereotypes
  • Develops sensitivity and respect for the natural world
  • Values each child’s family background, race, culture and religion
  • Has fun and enjoys learning through play.

What we offer

Cybertots nurseries are purpose-designed and located in light and spacious buildings. There is always a garden surrounding the building so your children can spend as much time as possible in the open air.

The staff is responsible for planning a balanced educational program that will meet the needs of each individual child and the group as a whole.

At this age children learn through play, by actually doing things and every activity provided is designed to assist your child’s development.

By observing children’s behaviour in many different situations and through discussions with parents, a store of knowledge is acquired that provides the basis for determining objectives and program plans. Records are kept on each child’s development which are accessible to parents.

We provide a stimulating environment in a relaxed atmosphere where both children and adults feel welcomed and valued.

Within our nursery we provide areas where care and learning experiences are appropriate to the children’s stage of development rather than age basis. Your child will progress through each of the areas during their stay with us.

The skilfully developed program caters to individual needs and offers equipment and learning experiences appropriate to the children’s stage of development.

Through play and fun we support every part of the Foundation Stage of the National Curriculum and the Birth to Three Matters framework.

For our innovative programme, we received an accreditation at our Acton nursery and we intend to achieve this at our future centres.

Here are some points that we believe are important to a child’s development

  • An exciting fun environment
  • Learning experiences that encourage independent / creative thinking
  • Interaction with other children
  • Development of social skills and self-esteem
  • Planning for individual children’s needs and interests
  • Active learning and project based activities that develop literacy and numeracy and prepares children for school

We work with you

Our staff works closely with parents through frequent feedback on a child’s progress, regular newsletters, open days and a daily records for each child. We want you to be fully informed and involved, as we want you to see that your child is receiving the highest quality childcare. This can only be obtained in close partnership with parents.

Our staff

Cybertots is a team of highly motivated and caring individuals. We have a low turnover of staff and believe that our nurseries are happy places as our staff are valued for their professionalism and expertise. Staff continue to access a range of training and development opportunities to update knowledge and skills. The team as a whole work together to provide children with the best quality early years education possible

Do you employ any specialist staff?

Cybertots employs a French teacher, who visits twice a week, teaching our children language, through play and singing. We also employ music, movement and art teachers.

My child has special needs

Cybertots employs special needs co-ordinators that can, if necessary, liaise with professional bodies to provide the best care for children with special needs. As they are on the premises they can also discuss any queries about your child with you.

What food do you supply?

We provide meals for the children. They are prepared on the premises and mealtime is a social activity. We cater for children with specific dietary requirements. Our menu is balanced and healthy and as it is a four-week menu the children experience a variety of meals. Additionally the menu changes with the seasons and we request parents to give us feedback and new ideas.

Do you go on outdoor trips with the children?

Trips are made to the local shops, library, theatre and parks. We believe in the importance of helping children understand their community. These trips provide significant learning and social experiences. Parent assistance is always welcome on these excursions.

What does Internet Nursery mean?

All parents feel a little apprehensive about leaving a child at a nursery for the first time, which is why we have installed web cams in each room. Parents can log on to our web site using a secure password and can see their children at any time during the day, in real time.

We transmit 25 frames per second; however, our software will detect intruders instantly and will act upon this information immediately.

By giving you access to the nursery via the Internet, we hope to give you peace of mind about the quality of care your child is receiving. We believe this is also a reflection of the confidence we have in our excellent team of carers.

Most of the images will be joyful and happy some however may be sad. You may see your child having a negative reaction to or difficulty with another child. You may see your child cry.

We ask you not to take these out of context; such events are part of the learning process as your child interacts with other children and adults. It takes time and a lot of learning to grow up and we will help your child to develop both physically and socially.

Can I come to visit Cybertots?

You are very welcome to see our nursery as this will give you a chance to meet our manager, staff and see children engaged in day activity. All you need to do is to phone our nursery and make an appointment.

How do I settle my child into Cybertots?

We are aware that starting nursery can be a traumatic experience for all involved. Each child will be very different when first settling into the nursery environment, therefore, as parents know their child best, we will work with you to devise an appropriate ‘settling in period’ for your child. If parents are actively involved in the transition between home and nursery, and remain supportive of the environment, then the child is likely to settle quickly.

Each child is allocated a key worker who will work in partnership with the parents, involving you in decision making and planning for your child and regularly exchanging information.
